07.18.07 - The 2007 Summer Guitar Workshop on June 20-23 was a tremendous success with our special guest, Andy Timmons.
Andy taught a guitar tone class, songwriting, improvisation and then did a performance clinic. We thank Andy for taking
the time to help the students improve. The 4 day event covered various guitar techniques and styles such as applied technique, blues
phrasing, note choice, playing over modes, legato, sweeping, tapping and more. Some photos of the event have been posted HERE.
08.20.06 - The RMA is holding an open house on August 26th. If you would like to come see our
facilities, meet some instructors and see some students and teachers perform, come join us. Students and teachers
will be performing at 12:00, 2:00 and 4:00. We will be open from 9-5 that day if you would simply like to drop in
to find out more about us. Fall enrollment is now taking place, so call or email to reserve your lesson slot.
08.20.06 - The RMA's beginner group guitar lessons are enrolling now for the next session. Click

08.16.06 - The RMA is now offering banjo instruction for the first time. Quality banjo instructors
are hard to find. So we are very happy to have Ben Walters join our staff to teach banjo, mandolin, guitar and piano.
04.01.06 - Ron Thal was named an Honorary RMA Faculty for
his dedication to helping RMA students. He's been a true friend of all of us here at the RMA and
we're happy he continues to come back to teach and perform.
03.16.06 - We're proud to announce the Greg Howe Master Class & Clinic on June 24th.

12.11.05 - The RMA has just opened an online forum. This forum will not only provide
information on RMA events, but information on local musical events, free lessons and classifieds. It is open to anyone
to use and we will be adding to it on a consistent basis. Surf on in to learn some things, or sign

10.04.05 - The RMA is happy to announce the addition of two new instructors, Panos Messis (piano
and theory) and David Armstrong (drums and percussion). Panos holds degrees in piano, music education
and orchestral conducting. David is a graduate of the Atlanta Institute of Music and a professional performing

07.06.05 - The 2005 RMA Summer Guitar Workshop was lots of fun for students and faculty alike.

02.12.05 - The 2005 RMA Summer Guitar Workshop is bringing
Freakfoot to the RMA.
Ron Thal and Mattias IA Eklundh will
be instructing at the summer workshop for the entire four days. We're estatic to have both of
these artists make the time to help other players. More info will be posted as it is scheduled.
01.25.05 - The RMA is proud to welcome a new guitar instructor, Greg Dalton, to its teaching
staff. Greg is proficient in many styles of guitar, with his specialty being jazz. We're glad
to have such a skilled teacher join us as the RMA continues to grow.
10.20.04 - Ron Thal, (Bumblefoot) is coming
back to the RMA to hold another clinic on 11.13.04 at 7:30 p.m. Along with performing many of his songs,
he plans on covering some ideas to improve your guitar playing. Some points he plans discussing include:
- Thinking before playing
- Finger technique
- Theory to help solos and melodies connect to the corresponding music

05.01.04 - The RMA is pleased to welcome guest instructor, Ricky Garcia
to its 2004 Summer Guitar Workshop.
01.01.04 - The RMA welcomes Ron Thal, better known as Bumblefoot, on March 27th of 2004. The RMA is holding the
X-treme Guitar Workshop for which Bumblefoot will be doing a special clinic/performance. The
first night (March 26th), returning guest instructor Chris Ptacek and RMA instructor Paul Warren will hold a clinic on various guitar
techniques to boost and expand your playing. The second night (March 27th), Ron Thal comes in to change your mind about
what is possible with the guitar. This is going to be an amazing workshop and we're glad to have these clinicians coming.
10.12.03 - The Raleigh Music Academy is proud to present "Playing the Blues", a two evening blues workshop
being instructed by RMA faculty, Robert Horne and Hugh Floyd. It is being held on December 4th and 5th, 2003 beginning at
7:00 pm each night.
06.09.03 - The Raleigh Music Academy was recently featured in the News and Observer newspaper in an article

05.15.03 - The 2003 RMA Summer Guitar Workshop is now open for registration. This year's workshop not
only includes the RMA guitar and bass faculty, but also a special guest appearance from guitar legend, Vinnie Moore. The
RMA also welcomes a great guitarist out of Chicago as a guest instructor - Chris Ptacek.
11.14.02 - The grand opening of our new location went very well and we all had a good time entertaining the crowd
that showed up. We especially thank Guitar Center and Indoor Storm for
helping sponsor the event with some great giveaways. Megan Turek (pictured to the right) was the grand prize winner as she
won a Squier Strat guitar and amp provided by Guitar Center, a hat from Godin Guitars, and a RMA t-shirt.
